Bharat Taxi Launch Expands Mobility Services in Uttar Pradesh
The Bharat Taxi Launch has expanded mobility services to Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Kanpur and Prayagraj. Union Minister of State for Cooperation Shri Murlidhar Mohol addressed the programme in Lucknow.
Bharat Taxi Launch and Cooperative Mobility
The service follows the principle “Driver is the Owner”. Under its cooperative model, Saarthis are stakeholders and owners. More than 10 lakh Saarthis have joined Bharat Taxi in six months. Saarthis complete around 20,000 rides daily, while they have earned more than Rs 100 crore through these rides.
During the programme, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath launched the Mukhyamantri Krishak Samriddhi Yojana portal. The government also launched the Urvarak Setu and UPCDC mobile apps The Airport Authority, Lucknow Metro Rail and Lucknow Police signed Memoranda of Understanding with Bharat Taxi.
Cooperative Sector Initiatives in Uttar Pradesh
Shri Mohol highlighted more than 160 initiatives launched by the Ministry of Cooperation during the last five years. The government is computerising around 80,000 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies nationwide at an estimated cost of approximately Rs 3,000 crore.
He said Uttar Pradesh has around 42,000 cooperative societies. More than 54 lakh new members have joined cooperatives in the state, including about 17.5 lakh farmers. Around 6,300 PACS are being computerised in three phases.
The minister also highlighted national cooperative organisations for seeds, organic products and exports. Around 70,000 cooperative societies are associated with these three organisations. He referred to White Revolution 2.0 and Tribhuvan Sahkari University for strengthening cooperative-sector capacity.
Bharat Taxi and Cooperative Development
Bharat Taxi represents the expansion of the cooperative model into the mobility sector. Around 40 lakh passengers have joined the service, while approximately 40,000 Saarthis have registered across the five Uttar Pradesh cities.
PACS activities are also expanding into storage, insurance, organic products, seeds, Common Service Centres and other rural services. The Bharat Taxi Launch reflects expansion into emerging sectors.
