Water Week 2026 Focuses on Climate Resilience
The Water Week 2026 will take place from 22–26 September 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The Ministry of Jal Shakti is organising the 9th India International Water Week. The theme is “Climate Resilient Water Management.”
Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan will inaugurate the event on 22 September. The Union Minister of Jal Shakti and other dignitaries will attend the inauguration. The Netherlands and Germany will join as Partner Countries.
Fourteen States will participate as Partner States. Six Central Ministries and Departments will also participate as Partner Ministries and Departments. Their participation will strengthen cooperation across sectors and levels of government.
Major Forums and Water-Sector Themes
The five-day event will feature 10 major forums. These include the Ministerial Plenary, Global Water Leaders’ Plenaries, Country Forums, Startup Forum, Youth Forum and Industrial Forum.
Discussions will cover seven key areas. They include inclusive water governance, efficient resource use, technology, climate risks, innovative financing and sustainable water management.
An international exhibition will run from 22–25 September. It will showcase technologies, products and solutions for sustainable water management.
The Second International WASH Conference 2026 will run from 22–24 September. It will focus on drinking water, sanitation, hygiene and public health. The conference will also examine affordable and scalable solutions.
The Water Week 2026 discussions will seek practical recommendations, partnerships and scalable solutions. The programme will connect policy, finance, technology and community participation.
The Valedictory Session will take place on 25 September. Study tours will follow on 26 September. The event will promote cooperation for water security and climate resilience.
